Transitional/Sober Living

Transitional/sober living programs provide housing and social support for individuals in early recovery who have completed residential treatment and/or have enrolled in our other treatment programs. It provides individuals in recovery with a substance-free environment while they navigate the responsibilities of life in the real world. By providing structure and boundaries, individuals receive the necessary support to avoid relapse during the most vulnerable early stages of recovery. What to Expect From Transitional/Sober Living?

Our sober and transitional living residences provide a safe, affordable, and structured environment to maintain sobriety. Situated in a beautiful, safe neighborhood with convenient access to public transportation, we provide private, comfortable bedrooms in a communal living space. Our living arrangements also include the following:

  • Caring personnel
  • Medication-assisted treatment (when required)
  • Cable TV, wireless internet, and on-site parking
  • Structured program with a phased system of independence
  • Job skills training and resume assistance
  • Random drug and breathalyzer tests

In addition, we collaborate with community organizations in various ways, including hosting meetings, volleyball, softball, and many events throughout the year.

How Long Do People Stay in Transitional/Sober Living Residences?

The average length of stay in transitional/sober living residence depends on various factors, including individual treatment needs and progress, willingness to follow house rules, home environment, and the existence of any co-occurring mental health disorders. Individuals can stay for as long as needed, provided they follow the house rules.

The Ideal Candidate for Transitional/Sober Living

Anyone needing more time to solidify what they have learned in addiction treatment before returning to their everyday life can benefit from a sober and transitional living program. The ideal candidate for a sober and transitional residency program is someone in early recovery from alcohol and drug addiction who would benefit from structure, monitoring, and a supportive community. Ideally, they should have a minimum of two years of active recovery. They should also be passionate, enthusiastic, mature, dependable, have good boundaries, and be clean and organized.
